APPLICATION PROCESS
YOUR CHARITY
We welcome your application for a grant. You’ll need to satisfy each of the following criteria:-

The charity must be registered with the Charity Commission

The charity must be at least three years old

The charity must turn over a gross revenue of less than £750,000

The grant amount must be less than 15% of gross revenue

There must be at least three trustees who are independent with no one having overall control.

The charity will have a governing document to show how it is managed.

There must be a bank or building society account which requires two unrelated signatories.

The charity will have accounts and sound management structure for managing the grant
-
There must be appropriate safeguarding policies.
YOUR APPLICATION
This is where you tell us about your charity and your project. We would like to hear about what you have achieved and what you want to achieve. Tell us about what drives you and tell us about your successes.
Each grant application or project that we receive will obviously be different and therefore the documentation that will be needed to assess it will differ. Please provide us with sufficient supporting information.
There are separate forms for grants of less than £5,000 and those for larger grants, please ensure you complete the correct application packs. Later in the process you will need to provide details of your bank or building society. We will send relevant forms to you by email as we progress through the application process.
APPLICATION REVIEW
We will go through your application in some detail and look at the documentation you have provided and assess the following:
Do you have the capacity to undertake the project.
Does the project itself fall within the Betsy Foundation objectives,
We will review your financial information and your governance documentation.
Do you have a track record of fulfilling similar projects.
Do your financial projections look reasonable.
DECISION
Our grants panel will decide, based on your application and our review. We would hope to make that decision within six weeks from the date of receipt of the completed application being the date of receipt of any additional information requested.
AWARD
The Grant will be paid into the nominated bank account of the Charity from the Betsy Foundation account at CAF - Charitable Aid Foundation.
PROJECT
We will want to be convinced that your project is feasible and fits within our mission, so please provide as much information as necessary to enable us to assess it effectively.
FOLLOW UP
We will be asking you to provide a project update at the end of six or twelve months, depending on the size of the grant, to include an analysis of the effect of the project and financial summary.
